SignetSoul Ring Size Guide
Here at SignetSoul, our ring sizes adhere to standard US measurements. Interestingly, various countries such as the UK, France, Germany, Japan, and Switzerland each have their unique measurement systems. Numerous conversion ring size guides are available online for easy translation between different systems:
Whether you’re trying to determine your ring size or your partner’s, our printable ring size guide above is a handy reference. If you find yourself in between sizes, we recommend opting for the larger size! (Sizes 6 and 7 are the most common for women’s ring fingers.)
Ring Diameter Method - Measuring an Existing Ring
- Determine the inner diameter of the ring in millimeters.
- Refer to the “Ring Diameter (mm)” column in the ring size guide above to identify the ring size.
Finger Circumference Method #1 - Get your finger professionally sized
If you can visit a professional jeweller, you can ask them to size your finger.
- Decide which finger will wear the ring. Keep in mind, each of your fingers is a different size!
- Ask them to measure that finger, and provide the corresponding US size.
- Make sure the fit of that size is comfortable
Is your finger a whole size? Great! Select that size.
Is your finger a half size? Most jewelry brands (like us) offer only whole sizes. To find the best fit, adjust the ring sizer to the nearest whole sizes (for example—if you’re a size 6.5, adjust the ring sizer to a 6 and try it on, then a 7 and repeat) and choose which one feels more comfortable.
If you’re uncertain, it’s always safer to choose the larger size!
Finger Circumference Method #2 - DIY Solutions at Home
So in case you don't have access to a jeweller locally, you can still accurately measure your finger at home using some everyday items.
You’ll need a thin piece of string, dental floss or strip of paper; a pen; and a measuring tape or ruler.
- Wrap the chosen finger tightly with the string/floss or strip of paper.
- Use a pen to mark the point where the string/floss/paper meets around your finger.
- Straighten out the string/floss/paper and measure it against a ruler in millimeters.
- Refer to the “Finger Circumference (mm)” in the ring size guide to find your correct size!
Other tips for measuring your ring size:
- Ensure your fingers are at their “normal” size when you measure them. Fingers tend to shrink slightly in cold weather, and they swell in summer, after consuming alcohol or exercising.
- If you have a particularly large knuckle, you might want to select a larger ring size so that the ring can slide over the knuckle.
- There are often size differences between your left and right hand!
- What does a good fit feel like? Your ring should slide on with ease, but be snug and slightly challenging to remove.
